Warmoth J Bass – Fretless Version

This walnut body and Bartolini pickup really seem to get along with the fretless neck. The Warmoth body has originally worn a fretted neck since I first assembled it back in 1997.  The new neck is also from Warmoth – wenge with an ebony fingerboard and the Warmoth design tilted headstock. It is fitted with Hipshot Ultralite tuners. I made the nut myself out of ebony. I really enjoy making the nuts for my basses. I’m no expert, but spending my time getting it right for my tastes has been very rewarding. I hope to someday use this neck on a thinline style body, but it’s just playing so well as it is…
