Versatile left-handed bassist and jazz composer Doug Walker has been working the San Diego music scene for over two decades. In that time, he has written an abundance of original compositions, and became a mainstay with many of the city’s renowned artists across the musical spectrum. Whether accompanying the various sub-genres of jazz, soul, country, and rock, his formal training merges with his stylistic faithfulness––a rare combination appreciated by fellow musicians and perceptive audiences. As a composer, he seizes the opportunity to borrow elements from these styles to offer his personal take on contemporary jazz.
