Here is my transcription of Larry Grenadier’s bass solo on Brown Speaks, from the Brad Mehldau Trio album “Where Do You Start”, 2012. I love every aspect of Larry Grenadier’s playing. His solo’s are simply amazing to me. I transcribe him to better understand his note choices and phrasing. But he also puts a lot of magic into the shape of every note- something I did not quite capture here and I’m not sure I ever will.
